Arizona Cardinals Vs. Minnesota Vikings Game Odds: NFL Betting Week 2

The Arizona Cardinals stunned the nation on Sunday in their win against the Tennessee Titans. After adding veterans like J.J. Watt and A.J. Green to the roster in the offseason to be the leaders the team needs, we expected the Cardinals to improve from last year. But no one knew that Chandler Jones would come out with a total of five sacks in the game and Kyler Murray would play a near perfect game.

With all eyes now on week 2 against the Minnesota Vikings, fans are expecting a win for the Cardinals at the team’s first home game of the season. And with Arizona sports betting in full gear, the Cardinals might be a smart team to include on your parlay.

Cardinals Game Preview (1-0)

The Cardinals are the slight favorites in the game, but if they play like they did on Sunday, they will have no problem taking on the Vikings.

Chris Jones had three of his five sacks in the first quarter and he wasn’t the only one on defense doing work. Isaiah Simmons, Byron Murphy, and J.J. Watt, just to name a few, all played a part in the Cardinals win.

On the other side of the ball, Rodney Hudson made a big impact and Kyler Murray was able to do what he does best. He made smart decisions and showed off his fancy footwork along with his passing talent, finishing the game with 289 passing yards and four touchdowns. DeAndre Hopkins and Christian Kirk each had two touchdowns, but pretty much everyone on the Cardinals roster showed up and did their part.

As long as the defense stops Adam Thielen and puts pressure on Kirk Cousins, the Cardinals will enter week 3 with a 2-0 record. And if the team can keep up that energy and continue to work as one, there is no stopping the Cardinals this year.

Vikings Game Preview (o-1)

The Vikings lost in week 1 against the Cincinnati Bengals in an overtime thriller. It ended in dramatic fashion thanks to a fumble from Dalvin Cook. Kirk Cousins didn’t do too bad with 351 passing yards and two touchdowns.

As mentioned above, Adam Thielen will be the man to stop. He finished Sunday’s game with 92 receiving yards and two touchdowns, leading the offense. The Vikings had 12 penalties in the game, including five false starts. That won’t hold up well against the Cardinals defense. Especially if the Vikings offensive line allows sacks like they did against the Bengals.

It will be really interesting to see how Patrick Peterson performs. The cornerback went to the Vikings this offseason after playing with the Cardinals since he was drafted in the first round in 2011.

Cardinals Super Bowl Odds Increase

After the Cardinals dominating performance on Sunday, sportsbook apps have shifted the team’s Super Bowl odds along with Kyler Murray’s MVP odds.

BetMGM had the Cardinals at a generous +1600 before the start of week 1, now the sportsbook has Arizona at +1400. As for DraftKings, the Cardinals were at +4500 and now they sit at +3500 to win the Super Bowl.

Kyler Murray started off the season at +2500 to win MVP, now Caesars has him at +1000.
