Phoenix and surrounding cities also are known to host some of the world’s biggest sporting events such as March Madness and the Super Bowl. Totals bets, spread bets, parlay bets, moneyline bets, and even prop bets will be permitted in the state of Arizona. This includes placing wagers on collegiate games, with the exception of prop bets. Phoenix Online Sports Betting Versus Neighboring States
Arizona has four neighboring states, two of which do not allow any sports betting at all. However, Nevada and New Mexico do offer some sports betting options.
California currently doesn’t allow sports betting of any kind. But they may be following Arizona’s lead as lawmakers are looking to pass a bill to allow sports betting in California by 2022.
The state of Utah doesn’t allow any form of sports betting or any form of gambling.
Nevada is known for gambling, so of course, in-person and online sports betting is allowed in the state. Las Vegas is an easy five-hour drive from downtown Phoenix and offers a few more options than Arizona when it comes to sports betting. In Nevada, especially Las Vegas, you will easily be able to find a retail sportsbook. Retail sportsbooks such as BetMGM, Caesar’s Sportsbook, and WynnBET are popular in Las Vegas, also offering online sports betting.
New Mexico is a little different when it comes to legal sports betting. The Indian Gaming Regulatory Act of 1988 permits retail sportsbooks in some casinos. However, the state of New Mexico only allows these locations for in-person sports betting and doesn’t allow any online sports betting.
