Best Phoenix Sportsbooks

Arizona is one of the newest states to allow sports betting and with Phoenix being the home to several sports franchises, sports bettors have plenty of opportunities for sports betting in Phoenix.

Phoenix Suns Arena and Chase Field both call downtown Phoenix home and have partnered with top sportsbooks to offer retail sportsbooks and mobile sports betting.

This is just the beginning for sports betting in Phoenix, which is expected to be extremely popular, generating plenty of tax revenue for the state.

Best Phoenix Sportsbooks

More sportsbook partnerships are expected to be announced in the near future, but as of now, Phoenix will be hosting two prime retail sportsbooks. The sportsbooks aren’t yet open and it is unclear when they will as they need to be built out at each location.

FanDuel Sportsbook At Suns Arena

The Phoenix Suns Arena struck a deal with FanDuel sportsbook, offering in-person and online sports betting in Phoenix.

New players can score a risk-free bet of up to $1,000 when they sign up for the app. Generally, this promotion is only available on the FanDuel app and not in person at the sportsbook

Or sports bettors can venture down to Phoenix Suns Arena, located in the heart of downtown Phoenix. Inside the arena, a retail sportsbook lounge will offer guests the chance to watch live sports while also placing wagers. The arena is an easy drive or even a walk for those in the downtown Phoenix area.

Caesar’s Sportsbook At Chase Field

Partnering with Harrah’s Ak-Chin Casino and Chase Field, Caesar’s Sportsbook will offer sports bettors the opportunity to place bets in-person or online through the app.

Harrah’s Ak-Chin Casino is located in Maricopa and is a little bit of a drive from downtown Phoenix, but Chase Field is located right in downtown Phoenix and is home to the Arizona Diamondbacks.

The retail sportsbook will be located just adjacent to Chase Field. The sportsbook and bar will offer food, drinks, and of course, sports betting.

For those interested in online sports betting, Caesar’s offers new bettors a $500 risk-free bet when placing a bet within seven days of registering for the app. This offer will not be available at the sportsbook location, but only when registering for the app.

BetMGM Sportsbook At Gila Rivers Hotels

BetMGM also offers sports betting in Phoenix. Even though the retail sportsbooks will be located in Gila Rivers Hotels and Casinos, which are located in surrounding cities such as Chandler and Glendale, BetMGM also offers online sports betting.

New bettors receive a risk-free bet of up to $600 as a welcome bonus through the app, but unfortunately not at the retail sportsbook.

If you are looking for a BetMGM retail sportsbook, Gila Rivers Hotels and Casinos are just a quick drive from downtown Phoenix.

DraftKings Sportsbook At TPC Scottsdale

DraftKings partnered with TPC Scottsdale, offering online betting options as well as a premium retail sportsbook.

TPC Scottsdale is just about a 25-minute drive from downtown Phoenix and offers bettors a view from the 19th hole of the golf course while enjoying food and drinks.

New players on the DraftKings app can receive a 20% deposit bonus of up to $1,000.

Phoenix Sports Betting In Arizona

A new bill signed by Arizona Governor, Doug Ducey, allows sports betting for those 21-years-old and older within the state lines. Even though the bill was signed in April, it still has yet to take effect. However, things look promising that sports betting in Phoenix will be available in time for the start of the new NFL season, with the expected launch date of September 9.

Arizona is allowed 20 total sports betting licenses, including 10 to tribal casinos and 10 to local venues and sports franchises. With the announcement of sports betting in Phoenix, many partnerships have already been formed.

Specifically, in the city of Phoenix, there are two different retail sportsbooks. FanDuel partnered with Phoenix Suns Arena to offer an in-person sports betting experience. Online sports betting in the city of Phoenix and the rest of Arizona is also allowed through the FanDuel app.

Just down the street at Chase Field, Caesars Sportsbook will offer a bar adjacent to the stadium complete with sports betting, food, drinks, and a place to watch all sporting events.

How To Bet Online In Phoenix

With a handful of partnerships already in the works, online sports betting in Phoenix can be done conveniently through a variety of mobile apps. As long as the sportsbook app has a partnership with a casino or sports franchise and venue in the state, they will most likely also offer online betting options.

Register

Start by browsing the different app options you have. When you find one, or even two, that you are interested in, you can start the process by registering.

To register, you must prove your identity and that you are 21-years-old or older by providing the following information:

  • Name
  • Date of birth
  • Email address
  • Mailing address
  • Phone number
  • Last four digits of your SSN

Once you complete the registration process, you will be able to log in to the app and start betting.

Deposit Funds and Bet

You will want to check all bonus offers that the sportsbook app is currently offering. The good news is, there are different promotions throughout the year and most apps offer a welcome bonus.

Once you deposit funds into your account using either credit, debit, or an e-wallet such as PayPal, you can start placing bets. Most of the apps will allow totals bets, moneyline bets, points spread bets, parlay bets, and prop bets.

Collect Winnings

If you do end up winning, you can cash out just as easily as depositing funds. To collect your winnings, you can use either a bank transfer, an e-wallet, or a check that will be mailed to your mailing address.

Legal Sports Betting In Phoenix

In April of 2021, Governor Ducey signed a bill allowing sports betting in Phoenix and the entire state of Arizona. This includes retail sportsbooks and online sports betting.

The Department of Interior recently signed off, giving Arizona the green light to move forward with sports betting. The official launch date for sports betting in Arizona is unknown right now, but it is expected to be in full effect by the 2021-2022 NFL season.

We still don’t know all of the details when it comes to rules and regulations, but as of now, those 21-years-old and older will be allowed to place sports wagers in-person and online in the near future. The bill grants the state a total of 20 licenses. The local tribal-operated casinos are allowed ten licenses and the other ten will go to local sports franchises and venues.

What Sports Can I Bet On In Phoenix

Sports betting in Phoenix really has endless options. Thanks to the state of Arizona calling several professional sports teams home, such as the Arizona Cardinals, the Phoenix Suns, the Phoenix Coyotes, and the Arizona Diamondbacks, the state is a prime spot for sports bettors.

Phoenix and surrounding cities also are known to host some of the world’s biggest sporting events such as March Madness and the Super Bowl. Totals bets, spread bets, parlay bets, moneyline bets, and even prop bets will be permitted in the state of Arizona. This includes placing wagers on collegiate games, with the exception of prop bets. Prop bets are not allowed on collegiate games in Arizona.

Not only will Phoenix offer online sports betting, but retail sportsbooks are also allowed. Two of which are already in the works in downtown Phoenix.

Phoenix Online Sports Betting Versus Neighboring States

Arizona has four neighboring states, two of which do not allow any sports betting at all. However, Nevada and New Mexico do offer some sports betting options.

California

California currently doesn’t allow sports betting of any kind. But they may be following Arizona’s lead as lawmakers are looking to pass a bill to allow sports betting in California by 2022.

Utah

The state of Utah doesn’t allow any form of sports betting or any form of gambling.

Nevada

Nevada is known for gambling, so of course, in-person and online sports betting is allowed in the state. Las Vegas is an easy five-hour drive from downtown Phoenix and offers a few more options than Arizona when it comes to sports betting. In Nevada, especially Las Vegas, you will easily be able to find a retail sportsbook. Retail sportsbooks such as BetMGM, Caesar’s Sportsbook, and WynnBET are popular in Las Vegas, also offering online sports betting.

New Mexico

New Mexico is a little different when it comes to legal sports betting. The Indian Gaming Regulatory Act of 1988 permits retail sportsbooks in some casinos. However, the state of New Mexico only allows these locations for in-person sports betting and doesn’t allow any online sports betting.
