Opening College Football Pac-12 Championship Odds

College football officially kicks off in August and we already have some opening sports betting odds for the Pac-12 Championship.

Arizona is home to the Arizona State University Sun Devils and the University of Arizona Wildcats. Both are in the competitive Pac-12 division, making it difficult for either team to make it to the Pac-12 Championship. However, ASU is looking to have a pretty fair chance this season, where U of A is at the bottom of every sportsbook.

With Arizona launching legalized sports betting on September 9, sports bettors in the state will get a chance to place their wagers on the Pac-12 Championship. The Arizona sports betting bill

allows for betting on collegiate sports, just no prop bets.

So, what do the sports betting odds look like for ASU, U of A, and the rest of Pac-12 in the upcoming season?

Early Sportsbook Favorites

The opening odds for the Pac-12 Championship have some variation between sportsbook apps. But most of them have the Oregon Ducks and USC Trojans right at the top. Unfortunately for U of A fans, they are expected to stand no chance to win the championship, where ASU has decent odds.

ASU Pac-12 Championship Odds

Last year was a very strange season for college football. ASU was only able to play six games but ended up winning four of them. With the return of 20 starters, it looks like it is going to be a winning season for the Sun Devils.

ASU’s offense was ranked at the top of yards per game in the Pac-12 last year, so the return of nine of those starters, including quarterback Jayden Daniels and running back Rachaad White is only going to help ASU win games. Herm Edwards returns as the head coach and is eyeing his first Pac-12 Championship. The only problem is that ASU usually struggles against Pac-12 opponents, going 6-7 in the last two seasons. And with back-to-back games in November against USC and Washington, it isn’t going to be an easy road to the championship game for the Sun Devils. But it still might be worth it for sports bettors to consider placing a wager on ASU.

U of A Pac-12 Championship Odds

U of A had a tough season last year, winning zero of the five games they played, including getting beat badly by their ASU revivals, 70-7.

The team needs a need leader on the field and there is some competition among the quarterbacks for that starting position. Gunner Cruz, Kevin Doyle, and Luke Ashworth are all battling it out for the number one quarterback spot.

The Wildcats should focus on this being a rebuilding year, especially since it will be the first year with new head coach Jedd Fisch. Fisch comes with an impressive coaching record, but this will be the first time he will be leading a team as the head coach. His previous job was the quarterbacks’ coach for the New England Patriots.

It may be a long shot for either Arizona college team to even make it to the Pac-12 Championship game, but there is a glimmer of hope for the ASU Sun Devils.
