Arizona Wildcats March Madness Odds For Sweet 16 And Beyond

Fans of the Arizona Wildcats woke up with plenty of questions on Monday. The first was wondering if what they watched Sunday night was real, or if it was just a bad dream? The next was how it impacted the Arizona Wildcats March Madness odds for winning the national championship.

They quickly realized Sunday’s game was all too real, but the good news is that the Wildcats held off TCU 85-80 in overtime. It wasn’t pretty, but it was enough to reach the Sweet 16 regardless.

And in a tournament where “survive and advance” is all that matters, there are no style points for blowout victories. There are no pollsters to impress, either, when the calendar strikes March.

The only thing that matters is winning the next four games. Anything short of four more wins will dull some of the luster from a spectacular regular season for the Wildcats.

Up next for the No. 1 seed in the South Region is Thursday night’s matchup with No. 5 Houston. In the earlier matchup in San Antonio’s AT&T Center, No. 2 seed Villanova will meet No. 11 Michigan. Both games will be televised by TBS, with Arizona’s game set for a 6:59 p.m. MT tipoff.

Here’s a look at the odds for Thursday’s game as of Tuesday morning, as well as updated futures odds on the Wildcats for Arizona sports bettors.

Arizona’s Odds To Win South Region

As a No. 1 seed, the Wildcats are obviously the favorites to win the region, but the South Region isn’t expected to be a cakewalk according to the oddsmakers.

This isn’t a year where the top four seeds are still alive in the South Region, but No. 5 Houston is a darling among analysts. Considering the Cougars made the Final Four last year, that’s understandable, too.

Here are the odds at BetRivers Sportsbook for the South Region:

Arizona +135
Houston +175
Villanova +200
Michigan +600

And here’s how the odds look at FanDuel Sportsbook for the South Region:

Houston +200
Villanova +250
Michigan +850
