Arizona State Football Sports Betting Preview For 2021 Season

Arizona State Football kicks off its season on September 2. With us being only a few weeks away, we have the sports betting preview all sports bettors need to wager on the Sun Devils.

Bouncing Back From Last Season

The 2020 season was a crazy season for every college team. ASU ended up only playing six games and finishing the season with a 4-2 record. Even though the Devils were ranked first in the Pac-12 for yards per game, their most impressive moment from 2020 was their 70-7 victory over their number one rivals, the University of Arizona.

Herm Edwards is entering his fourth season as head coach, looking to improve his overall 17-13 record with the Devils. Coach Edwards will have 20 starters return this season, including quarterback Jayden Daniels and running back Rachaad White.

Daniels leads the Devils as the team’s QB 1 for the third year and his second season under offensive coordinator Zak Hill. There is no question that Daniels can throw deep balls and can run. But he has been inconsistent in his career. If Daniels can start putting up more consistent and accurate passes, the Devils could not only be on track for a winning season, but maybe even a Pac-12 Championship appearance.

Betting On Sun Devil Football

Arizona sports betting launches on September 9, so you won’t be able to wager on the Devils in their first game of the season. But bettors can wager on the team for its second game on September 11 against UNLV. However, Daily Fantasy Sports launches on August 28, so DSF players can start playing along with ASU football at the very start of the season.

The Pac-12 is a competitive division, but ASU has the talent that could lead them towards the top. The Sun Devils not only have their eyes on a winning season and a bowl game, but they are looking to win the Pac-12 Championship. And the Devils actually have a chance this year.

The Oregon Ducks and USC are still at the top of most sportsbooks to win the Pac-12 Championship. But ASU is close behind. BetMGM had ASU at +500 just a few weeks ago, but now they are listed at +400. FanDuel also has them at +400, but DraftKings lists ASU at +450 to win the Pac-12 Championship.

Winning the Pac-12 Championship may be realistic for the Devils for the first time in years. As for winning the College Football Playoffs? It is a longshot. But the BetMGM app offers the best odds with the Sun Devils at +6500 to win it all this season.
