After coming off a loss to the Kansas City Chiefs on Friday, the Cardinals are looking to end the preseason with a win against the New Orleans Saints.
The Arizona Cardinals travel to New Orleans on Saturday, August 28 to take on the Saints in their final preseason game. The team then has a two-week break before traveling to Tennessee to play the Titans in week one of the NFL regular season.

Cardinals and Saints Game Preview
Last Friday, Kyler Murray played just three drives, completing only one pass and getting sacked twice. There was obviously some miscommunication between Murray and his receivers. It is a no-brainer that the offense needs some work, but is it worth putting Murray at risk? We do expect the quarterback to play a couple of drives on Saturday against the Saints.
We also expect to see a lot from Malcolm Butler, Byron Murphy, and Robert Alford as they battle it out for the top cornerback spots. The Cardinals currently have nine cornerbacks on the roster.
Another position where the Cardinals will need to make some decisions is the wide receiver spot. There are currently ten wide receivers on the roster. We expect Deandre Hopkins and A.J. Green to make the cut, but Christian Kirk, KeeSean Johnson, and Andy Isabella all have work to do to guarantee a spot on the team.
As for New Orleans, after Jameis Winston’s performance on Monday, he might have won the starting QB position. Winston completed nine out of ten passes, throwing two touchdowns and 123 yards in the Saints’ second preseason game. Winston will most likely play the first quarter again.
Other players to look at on the Saints include wide receiver Lil’Jordan Humphrey, left tackle Landon Young, and running back Dwayne Washington.
This is the first season with just three preseason games. After a two-week break, the regular season kicks off and we will really get to see how each team will mesh this year as they play for a trip to the Super Bowl.
Cardinals and Saints Sports Betting Odds
The Cardinals are expected to end around .500 this year, just like last year. But unlike last year, the team is looking to earn a wild card spot. Murray is also in the running to win MVP. Sportsbooks like DraftKings have the quarterback at +1600 to win the award this season.
Caesars has Arizona at +4000 to win the Super Bowl and +1600 to win the NFC Championship. As for the NFC West title, the sportsbook has the Cardinals at +600 to win it.
The NFC West is a tough division and it will be hard for the Cardinals to dominate in the regular season to get to the playoffs. But if they do land a playoff spot, they could surprise us all.
The New Orleans is also in a tough division, having to play the reigning Super Bowl Champions, the Tampa Bay Bucs, twice every year. But if the Saints can somehow figure out how to stop Tom Brady and friends, they could go far this year.
Caesars has the Saints at +3000 to win the Super Bowl and at +1800 to win the NFC Championship. The Bucs are of course on top to win the NFC South and the Saints are at +325.
DraftKings has Winston at +4000 to win MVP, but you never know after his performance in week two of the preseason. The real test will be how he does in the regular season and division games, especially against the Bucs’ mighty defense.
