The Phoenix Suns started the season at +4000 to win the NBA Finals.
But after they made it to the playoffs, the odds of the Suns winning the Finals improved.
There was even a period of time where they were the favorites to win it. But after the Bucks took a 3-2 lead in the series, Milwaukee is now the favorites to win it all.
The Fall Of The Suns’ Odds
No one could have expected the Suns to make it as far as they have. Especially with the Los Angeles Lakers and Brooklyn Nets as front-runners.
At the start of the season, top sports betting apps had the Nets at + 229 to win the Finals, but they were eliminated in the Eastern Conference semifinals against the Milwaukee Bucks. As for the Lakers, they were at +413 to win the championship again, but were eliminated in the first round by the Phoenix Suns.
As the playoffs went on, the Suns started to climb their way to the top of sportsbooks like FanDuel. By the time Phoenix reached the Finals, they were finally the favorites at -190. They continued to be the ones likely to win the Finals until the Bucks won Game 5 and took the series lead. Now, the Suns are at +310.
The Suns will need to win Game 6 in Milwaukee on Tuesday and Game 7 at home on Thursday to finally win an NBA Championship.
