The Phoenix Suns playoff run has come to an end. The Suns had entered the 2022 NBA Playoffs as the NBA Finals betting favorite and the number one seed in the West. After winning their opening series against the New Orleans Pelicans and going up 2-0 against the Dallas Mavericks, Phoenix lost to Dallas in the final game of the series.
From a sports betting standpoint, it’ll be interesting to see what happens to the wager totals at the Footprint Center with the Suns’ season coming to an end. Thanks to their partnership with FanDuel Sportsbook, a retail sportsbook was built inside the Suns’ home court. From September 2021 through February 2022, fans have wagered over $21 million at the Footprint Center.
As of this writing, only DraftKings has odds for next year’s NBA Finals, which gives the Suns the fifth-shortest odds to win the 2023 NBA Finals at +700.
There’s still plenty of betting action to get in on for this season, however, with the 2022 NBA Finals matchup set between the Golden State Warriors and Boston Celtics.
2022 NBA Finals Odds
If Arizona’s (short) betting history is any indication, wagers won’t be slowing down despite the Suns’ early playoff exit. According to reports from the Arizona Department of Gaming, over $1 billion in wagers have been placed just through the first two months of 2022. Below are the 2022 NBA Finals odds via FanDuel Sportsbook.

In addition to placing a futures bet on who you think will win the 2022 NBA Finals, each sportsbook offers different futures markets, with some going much deeper and providing more variety than others.

The Phoenix Suns And FanDuel Partnership
The bill legalizing sports betting in Arizona allows for sportsbooks to create a partnership with a local sports team or tribal entity to open a retail sportsbook and offer online sports betting. The Arizona Department of Gaming approved 20 sports betting licenses in the bill that brought betting to the state. These licenses were split evenly between Arizona’s tribes and local sports franchises, 10 and 10.
FanDuel is one of the leading sports betting competitors, and the brand inked a deal with the Phoenix Suns to create a long-term partnership that includes a sportsbook at the Footprint Center. The sportsbook lounge is now open and is over 7,000 square feet complete with seating and will be open daily, not just during game days. Self-service and full-service kiosks are also available, making it easy to place a bet.
You can also use the FanDuel app inside the arena, as they have partnered with Verizon Wireless to give 5G network access to make the app as reliable and efficient as possible.
