Best San Francisco 49ers Bars in Arizona
Desert Rose Pizza Gastropub & Steaks
N. 57th Dr. Glendale, AZ 85301
This isn’t the first time we’ve praised Desert Rose. We’ve told you how absolutely delicious the mac-n-cheese is before. You have to try it when you stop in for one of the NFL Playoff games, available on one of many screens on the wall.
In case you didn’t understand what we are saying: eat the mac-n-cheese. If there’s only one bowl of mac-n-cheeses you eat in 2023, make it the Desert Rose mac-n-cheese. Why? The dish is baked expertly, with crispy bacon and bread crumbs on top. Crispy, cheesy, yummy. Three words football fans love almost as much as touchdown, touchdown, touchdown.
Desert Rose doesn’t take reservations, but they will accommodate a group of eight or more to host a special party. That means when you and at least seven of your Niners-flag-waving, Terrell Owens-jersey-wearing, dog-named-Boldin ownin’ friends appear, Desert Rose will usher you to a nice table and freshen those drinks quick, as if you were Steve Young, himself.
McFadden’s Restaurant & Saloon
W. Coyotes Blvd. Glendale, AZ 85305
As the website says, this is an “Irish-themed sports bar located in the Westgate Entertainment District in Glendale.” Want convenience? Order a drink from a window bar on the street and find a table with sightlines of the hip, hopping Westgate District, where something is always happening and is just down the road from State Farm Stadium (home of Super Bowl 57).
Listen here, Niners Nuts McFadden’s is the best option for a pizza during your Wild Card Playoff or other NFL playoff games. The garlic pizza looks unbelievable, but you will believe how great it is when you pair it with cheesy breadsticks and your favorite pint.
McFadden’s is the most upper-scale option from our choices for NFL Playoff fans seeking a place to watch the games this January. But you’ll feel at home in casual attire and, of course, bring your appetite.
Varsity Tavern Tempe
Mill Ave. #200 Tempe, AZ 85281
If you’re near ASU, there’s no better place to nosh and hoot for your favorite team than Varsity, located a deep post pass away from campus in Tempe.
The vibe is predictably youthful (collegiate) and fun at Varsity Tavern, located on Famous Mill Avenue. Not only are there many, many (and we mean MANY) tv screens, but you’ll also find a few arcade games to distract you during pregame.
Pay special attention to the burgers and fries, which get lots of positive reviews on Yelp!
K O’Donnell’s Sports Bar & Grill
N. Northsight Blvd. Scottsdale, AZ 85260
Imagine finding the best happy hour in Scottsdale. K O’Donnell’s Sports Bar & Grill in Scottsdale has insanely good happy hour specials every day.
You can expect great deals for the NFL Playoffs too. The atmosphere is relaxed, with plenty of space for a large group of crazy Niners fans to cheer on Brock Purdy and Christian McCaffrey.
During Super Bowl week, the popular Waste Management Phoenix Open golf tournament will be held next door to K O’Donnell’s, so expect it to be lively and fun. And even more so if San Francisco is in the big game with a chance to win their sixth Super Bowl.
Bonus: AZ 49er Empire
As if those sports bar locations in Tempe, Glendale, and Scottsdale were not enough, here’s a 49ers fan club located in the heart of Arizona.
According to their Facebook page, AZ 49er Empire was “established in 2007 and is a club for 49er fans living in the Phoenix metro area.” This group of displaced Niner fans meets at various locations to commune and celebrate their favorite football club. Huzzah!
San Francisco 49ers Odds
The San Francisco 49ers host the Seattle Seahawks in their Wild Card Playoff game on Saturday, Jan. 14.
In the regular season, San Francisco defeated Seattle twice, by a combined score of 48-20. Neither game was close, as the 49ers defense shut down a sluggish Seahawks defense. The only chance Seattle seems to have for this Wild Card game is to capitalize on mistakes by San Francisco. Don’t count on it. Instead, look at Super Bowl odds, San Fran fans.
