DraftKings Sportsbook at TPC Scottsdale will join a crowded marketplace of retail sportsbooks in Arizona. DraftKings has partnered with the PGA Tour and TPC Scottsdale to launch the new sportsbook, which is expected to debut in the fall of 2023. Let’s explore its competition and the type of bets it will probably offer.
Arizona sports betting has exploded after launching in September 2022, with an enviable mix of mobile sports betting apps and retail sportsbooks. The latest addition to the retail sportsbooks portfolio is the upcoming DraftKings Sportsbook at TPC Scottsdale.
Inside DraftKings Sportsbook at TPC Scottsdale
Features and Amenities
DraftKings at TPC Scottsdale will be Arizona’s newest crown jewel sportsbook when it opens next fall. The retail sportsbook will feature more than 3,400 square feet of video walls, an outdoor patio area with video screens, VIP cabanas, and fire pits.
DraftKings Sportsbook, which will be located directly across from TPC Scottsdale’s main clubhouse, will have nearly 400 seats available for patrons. There will be additional standing room capacity, as well. The sportsbook will have 40 betting kiosks and seven ticket windows. Bettors will have more wagering options compared to those currently available on the DraftKings Sportsbook Arizona app. Customers will have the ability to make mobile wagers using complimentary high-speed internet service inside the sportsbook.
When Will DraftKings at TPC Scottsdale Open?
DraftKings’ retail sportsbook at TPC is expected to open this fall. The hours of operation are yet to be determined, but DraftKings Sports is expected to be open on a daily basis. You must be 21 or older to enter the betting lounge inside the sportsbook, but guests of all ages are welcome on the patio and at the restaurant. Customers will enjoy a high-end domestic dining experience with mixed drinks and 12 different beers on tap also available.
DraftKings Sportsbook will be open to the general public. The only exception to that rule will come during the week of the PGA Tour’s WM Phoenix Open at TPC Scottsdale when the sportsbook will be used for tournament hospitality. The WM Phoenix Open has recently been played during the week of the NFL’s Super Bowl in February.
Legal Sports Betting In Arizona
Arizona’s legal sports betting market launched in September 2021. The Arizona Gaming Department (ADG) reported that more than $777.3 million was bet in the state in the first two months of legal operation. That established a record across the US, as Virginia’s previous state record was more than doubled by Arizona. The ADG also reported that Arizona surpassed $1 billion in handle in 2022.
The state collects 8% in taxes from retail sportsbooks and 10% from online operators. DraftKings, FanDuel, BetMGM, and Caesars own the largest market share among Arizona’s legal sportsbook operators. Sports betting is wide open in Arizona for the most part. You can bet on in-state college teams, but there is a restriction on placing prop bets on college teams or players.

Types Of Bets You Can Make At DraftKings at TPC Scottsdale
You’ll enjoy several different ways to bet on sports at both online and retail sportsbooks in Arizona. These options include:
Straight
Straight bets can be made using the point spread, which adds or subtracts points from the teams’ final scores. If you’re betting on the NFL’s Arizona Cardinals -3 vs. the Las Vegas Raiders, the Cardinals need to win by four points to cover the spread.
Moneyline
With moneyline bets, you simply need your chosen team to win the game. The final margin of the score is irrelevant.
Total
These are also known as over-under bets. The game’s total is the combined number of points scored by both teams. You’re betting under or over the game’s posted total. Using the example above, let’s say the Cardinals and Raiders have a total of 47.5. You will need both teams to combine for at least 48 points to cash an “over” bet. The under bet will win if a maximum of 47 points are scored by both teams.
Prop Bets
Prop bets are wagers not directly related to the actual outcome of the game. The number of strikeouts a pitcher will have in a game? That’s a good example of a player prop. Team props are also available. Which team will be the first to score 20 points in the game? That’s a standard team prop bet.
Live Bets
Live bets are also known as in-game wagers. They are made after a game has started. New odds are released on a real-time basis depending on how the game is progressing.
Parlays
Parlays are wagers with multiple bets (or legs) that all have to be correct for you to win. The more legs you include, the higher the payout will be. But it’s inherently harder to win these bets. Search for free online parlay calculators that will give you your implied probability of winning and potential payout.
Teasers
Teasers allow you to adjust the points in your favor. You must have at least two teams coupled in these bets, and they both must cover the adjusted point spread.
Futures
The best example of futures odds? Betting on the winner of the next Super Bowl at any time of the year. At the time of this writing, DraftKings offered +3500 on the Arizona Cardinals to win Super Bowl 57. A $100 bet will pay out $3,500 if the Cardinals win the Super Bowl next year.

Top 3 Most Popular Sports For Bettors in Arizona are:
NFL in Arizona
The National Football League is a modern-day leviathan when it comes to sports betting in all of the US. The same holds true in Arizona. Betting on the NFL is available all year round – futures odds on the Super Bowl winner, anyone? However, it obviously spikes in September all the way through the Super Bowl in February.
Arizona Cardinals fans can back their NFL team in a variety of different ways at both retail and online sportsbooks. The BetMGM Sportsbook at State Farm Stadium is expected to be open when the 2022-23 NFL season kicks off in September. It marks the first sportsbook to be available at an NFL stadium.
NBA in Arizona
The NBA checks in at number two. The Phoenix Suns were the winningest team in the NBA during the 2021-22 regular season. The Suns are a popular choice at betting windows, too.
MLB in Arizona
As mentioned, Chase Field became the first MLB stadium to offer in-person wagering last year. The Diamondbacks play a 162-game regular season that affords plenty of chances to bet on them. Half of those games take place at Chase Field.
