Phoenix Suns’ Futures Odds Improve As Chris Paul’s Return Inches Closer

The Phoenix Suns’ odds to win the Western Conference Finals and the NBA Finals continue to shoot up at Arizona sportsbooks as the playoffs near and with the news that Chris Paul’s return is in sight.

Chris Paul’s Return

Paul has been out since the All-Star break with a fractured thumb. He was expected to be sidelined for six to eight weeks, but after practicing with the team on Tuesday, Paul’s return could be sooner than we think.

With nine games left in the regular season, the timing couldn’t be more ideal for the Suns. If Paul returns within the next few games, this gives the Point God time to brush off the rust and prepare for the playoffs.

However, Paul’s time on the bench has done the team some good, allowing his teammates to shine and build on their leadership skills, especially his sidekick Devin Booker. Booker dished out 12 assists in the first game sans Paul.

Finishing Out The Regular Season

Phoenix has already clinched a playoff spot and won its second straight Pacific Division title.

Now the team’s focus is clinching the No. 1 seed in the Western Conference, which is within their reach. This would give Phoenix home-court advantage throughout the playoffs. And with Phoenix having a 30-8 record at home this season, this would only help propel them through the playoffs.

As of Thursday morning, the Suns are nine games ahead of the Memphis Grizzlies and 11 games ahead of the Golden State Warriors in the Western Conference.

Phoenix takes on the Nuggets in Denver on Thursday night, and Memphis hosts the Milwaukee Bucks on Saturday.
