The sports betting brand is expanding with a retail sportsbook inside We-Ko-Pa Casino. Betfred and the Fort McDowell Yavapai Apache Nation formed a sports betting partnership in the fall of 2021, becoming the twelfth partnership between a sportsbook and Native American tribe in Arizona.
Betfred Sportsbook at We-Ko-Pa Casino
The We-Ko-Pa Casino is located in Fort McDowell, right outside of Scottsdale. Four Betfred betting kiosks have been temporarily available to sports bettors until the official opening of the sportsbook on Thursday, September 8.
The state-of-the-art venue will officially be open just in time to kick off the Cardinals’ season when they host the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 1 on Sunday, September 11.
Offering flexibility, comfort, and safety for all Arizona sports bettors. The sportsbook will have live betting with four live betting windows and eight betting kiosks, four of which are located throughout the casino floor. Bettors will be able to place pre-match bets, in-play bets, futures bets, straight bets, parlays, and more.
In addition, the venue will feature sport’s themed casual dining serving up crating pub eats and craft beer.
Guests will be able to catch college football on Saturdays, Monday Night Football, UFC fights, and other major sporting events on the sportsbook’s huge video wall.
“When designing the We-Ko-Pa Casino Resort, the Fort McDowell Yavapai Nation wanted it to be the place to be for local residents and area visitors interested in the latest-and-greatest gaming options,” said Mary Ketterling, general manager. “Adding sports betting further helps us make our beautiful casino the one-stop gaming destination they envisioned.”
The Betfred retail sportsbook inside We-Ko-Pa Casino just adds to the other already thriving retail sportsbooks across the valley. FanDuel was the first one to open inside the Footprint Center, home of the Phoenix Suns after the sportsbook struck a partnership with the local NBA team.
Then, Caesars opened a sportsbook right outside of Chase Field, home of the Arizona Diamondbacks. Caesars announced a partnership with the local MLB team soon after the legalization of Arizona sports betting was announced.
DraftKings is currently building a sportsbook at TPA Scottsdale thanks to a partnership with the PGA, the retail sportsbook is due to open in the fall of 2023. TPA Scottsdale is known for hosting the PGA’s Phoenix Waste Management Open, the greatest party on grass.
BetMGM at State Farm Stadium is currently being built and is scheduled to open soon. The Super Bowl is coming to Arizona in February, making it the first time a Super Bowl will be held at a stadium where sports betting is legal, and there is a sportsbook.
